Blogging :: A Source of Income
Blogging
Initially blogging was a person’s thing where he wrote about
his day but now it’s more of sharing their experiences to the world, making
money out of it, rapport with your prospects, advertising their content.
To be a blogger, you don't really need training or education
or anything formal like that. Bottom line, blogging is about having something
to say, something to write about. The 'work' of blogging is easier if you can
write reasonably well, read quite a bit about the general area you want to
write about, and have a reasonably good nose for writing topics. There's
nothing special about it and nothing special to do.
Answer these simple questions. Why do you want to be a
blogger:
1. You love to
write and want to share your content with the world?
2. Everyone is
a blogger so you want following trends?
3. You have
something important to say and believe people have to know about it?
4. Others?
What is your reason?
This may seem trivial but believe me, it is important to
answer this question before you start so you can create your own strategy.
Have a passion or something you love. Make sure that passion
or hobby, or whatever it is has a sizable niche, or possible audience size. Be
good or get good at writing and editing your own writing. If you're passionate
about a subject and you have decent writing skills, blogging definitely could be an alternative career path for you.
The short answer is, yes, it is possible to make a living—a very good one,
even—by writing online. On the other hand, the hard truth is most of the
millions of bloggers today don't make enough to support themselves just with
their blogs. Let's take a look at what's involved.
However, my first statement stands. You must write. You must
like writing and you must be willing to do it consistently.
People will counsel you about the topic you choose and the
number of steps it takes to set up your blog. Simply, write about something you
know, or something you enjoy learning, and you’ll be on the right track.
Build a personality, be yourself and give your own opinions.
After all, people don’t want to read a blog that talk about generic topics in a
dull way.
Well researched/good quality blog post=value
Value= Traffic
Traffic= Subscribers
Subscribers= Money.
If you are getting 500-1000 views a day, your average
click-through rate might be 5 clicks per day.
So, let's do the math
Let's assume you are getting 5 clicks each day, which means,
you get 150 clicks every month.
Now let's assume, average CPC for ads served on your site is
$0.20
So, you will earn $1 a day. That means $30 a month. Not Bad.
People don't even earn $10 a month. Earning $30 a month is a good start rate :)
Now that we have cleared that up, you should be able to see
that the only way to offer value is to find a problem and offer a solution (in
the form of education/advice)
By quality content, I mean content that’s unique,
informative, easy to follow and has no spelling and grammar errors.
However, you have to take search engine optimization into
consideration. That said, finding out what keywords your target audience is
looking for is crucial. You can use Google Keyword Planner for this purpose.
The trap most bloggers fall into is writing too often. You
should be writing no more than 20% of your time, and spending the other 80%
promoting the posts you have already written.
There are numerous free traffic methods out there. I don’t
recommend spending any money at all at this point on traffic.
Help people:
Solve their problems, write quality content and provide
dependable service. If all you care about is writing and sharing your knowledge
with other people, then you don’t even need to pay for hosting a website. You
can use free platforms such as Medium or open a Quora blog and start writing
Answer questions on Quora (I know, right). Link back to your
blog.
Build a lead magnet in the form of a free e-book and offer it
on your blog in return for a visitors email address.
Write
guests posts.
This is a key point. If you want to start getting quick
traffic instantly, you can also write some posts on others blog. I recommend
starting writing guest posts after you have written at least 20+ posts on your
own blog. Why? Because the owner of the other blog wants to be sure you produce
quality content
Start
blogging.
The best way to do something is to start. You will learn the rest along the way. Make the best most detailed content you can. Blogging
is something that if you do for a while, you get appreciation, you want to do
more of it. You can also generate a
considerable income out of it. But there are a couple of problems in making
blogging your full-time profession.
How to
start a blog on blogger?
A blog is also a type of website that focuses on blog posts.
Creating a blog on blogger is very simple and doesn't require any technical
knowledge. You can create your blog easily and also for free. You just need a
Google email address to create your own blog on Bloggers.com. Follow the below
instructions to start a blog using Blogger.com.

to your blog title).

on one. When you select a template, it will have a blue border around it. (you
can browse many more themes and customize your blog later).
Step 8: Click on "Create Blog!" button.
Your blog is created. Now you can start writing your posts.
Write your first blog post for your new blog and join the blogging community.
Responsive
blog designs are a must
Mobiles and tablets are now a primary source of web traffic
the world over.
If your theme doesn’t respond well to the smaller mobile
screens (use this to test) there is a good chance you will be losing valuable
traffic as people click away to find something easier to navigate.
What is
your blog persona?
Prepare yourself. What is your guideline, what do you want to
tell people, what are your priorities? Write it down. Always keep an open eye
on what’s new and trendy but have your own core. Something, that everybody will
see when they mention you, and your blog.
Be consistent.
Blogging is for the long haul. Initially blogging, when not
too many people are reading can be disheartening. But keep at it.
Write one post every day. To start getting some visitors on
your website, you have to produce quality content regularly. Writing one unique
and quality post everyday will surely get your blog indexed in Google quickly.
Spread the word among your friends and family. Ask for
feedback. Remember, the more you incorporate feedback and read other blogs the
more you would improve.
If you take action for 2 months and wonder where the rewards
are, you are going to fail because you will quit. Stick with it and work hard
for 12–18 months, you will see amazing progress and you will feel rewarded
beyond belief.
Invest
time, not money.
Why? Because blogs are about the content. I saw many, many
websites with no fancy UX or style. But it offered so many valuable pieces of
information and insights so people do not care about how stylish it is.
Think about it, there
are already a ton of blogs out there. There is no topic that you can bring new
to the market. Email marketing guide? Has been written too many times. How to
make chocolate at home? Done. You name it, the web has it. In between all these
brands, you have to create space for one more such blog. Also, in offline jobs,
you compete with a maximum of 30 people (who come to interview ). In blogging,
your competition is beyond millions.
Set up
Google Adsense banners.
To generate money easily, the easiest way is to put ad
banners on your blog. You have a lot of free plugins to help you to do that in
a few clicks. Place quality ads, By quality ads I mean ads that are
eye-catching, interesting and that pay a lot per click.
The reason I created my blog was to express gratitude towards
everything that made me a better person. Because there are many things that
make my life happier, my subjects range from music to sports. By writing an
article, I am able to potentially change a person’s perspective on life or
their opinion about something.
Having an E-mail subscriber list helps you write an article
and it automatically becomes available to your specific group of friends. These
readers are your fans, and it is your optimal duty, as a writer, to bring them something
valuable. Otherwise, why waste their precious time? They can do many things
instead. I feel that there is value in sharing love, information, and beauty to
the world. This is another reason why I share.
Sharing
Your email list will become the absolute bread and butter of
your business.
Once you build this up, you can send emails to let people
know about your latest posts.
The ultimate goal is to start offering affiliate products
where appropriate in your posts and emails.
Let us say that you have generated a good E-mail list. Do you
think that your work here is done? Not even close. You do not know everyone on
this planet…and you never will. But, it is important to have more people look
through your work. Why not bring more likeminded people to your group? The best
way to make this happen is through Social Media. There are a number of
platforms to choose from: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram,
Snapchat, Pinterest, and others. Each platform brings their own benefits. For
my articles, I choose to share on Facebook Groups. On my Instagram Blog page, I
share photos that were used on my article. Twitter gives me a chance to post
about relevant topics and engage with new potential likeminded people. There
are plenty of ways to express yourself through Social Media. Find the right
ones for you.
Building
brand needs time.
If you want to
establish yourself as a brand, it would require a long time. However, if you
are looking to just build niche blogs and earn money, this won’t be a problem.
But after a while, you’d definitely want to build a brand blog. Most people
start a blog in parallel to their job in hope of making some extra bucks. Due
to their job, the majority of their time and energy is wasted on the job
itself. Hence, they can’t create a blog
Visual
content (videos, graphics, photos, etc.) will only get bigger
People are moving to visual content. I believe, blogging is
good for a hobby, but can't support, let alone be the source of you sole
income. Don't depend on just Adsense or ads. Create your own product and sell
it to your audience.
You have to be cautious about health.
You’d be sitting in front of your computer most of the times. This can lead to possible eye fatigue, leg problems, back problems and much more. There are solutions to that, but most bloggers don’t seem to be following them.
Of course, writing content doesn’t mean your audience will
come running to it. You need to share every piece of content you produce via
social media networks (this is the easiest way; you can also share it via
email, but you’ll need to build a subscriber list first). Fb groups are
something you should leverage, as you can get honest feedback from your fellow
bloggers. Make sure you find the right group and start networking.
I feel like this was a great read. Recently I started a blog and I have absolutely no experience with it. Browsing the web for tips, tricks, and advice has been somewhat complicated though because it seems like everyone is mainly teaching the basic of how to make the page. The information you provided is very useful. I like the idea of creating a free e-book to get emails. I would have never thought of that and it isn’t something I’ve seen many people talk about in the blogs I have come across.
